The idea behind The Shed Group/LearningShed
The Shed Group was born out of an awareness that people who use, or want to use computers at home or in small business's sometimes do not have access to information or support resources available in commercial organisations. They therefore have to go on courses, or are left to their own devices to learn not only the hardware (the computer) but also the software. TheShedGroup was devised to help people and small organisations such as this, and assist with the training, support and guidance they sometimes need. Teaching individuals in their own home, the training is tailored to the individual needs.
We at The Shed Group can provide this training, support and guidance.
What is the support and training and why it is important ?
Support and Training is important not only to enable you to achieve the tasks you are trying to accomplish, but the training is also a means to help you to understand why you are doing it.
The training will be devised to meet your needs so you will be taught on what you need and want to know. This will form the basis of the
structure of the training. Either individually or in a small group, training will be delivered by means of a short description of the task, a demonstration, but more
importantly by means of user interaction.
By you (the user) doing the tasks on your own computer, in your own environment and with the trainer explaining how and why you are doing it, you will gain a greater
understanding of the tasks you are doing.
By learning by example in a real environment, you will recognise the things you are doing and will recognise more readily why you are doing it.
It is this familiarity that will assist you in the learning process.
Support can be offered in a wide range of formats, from a one off "come and fix my pc" to more formalised methods of support provision. We specialise in supporting users, and the hardware. We also specialise in larger support projects such as system upgrades, office relocations and home visits if the PC is a home based individual unit. This is particularly useful for companies and organisations that have remote or dispersed sites.
